Ordinary Eve

Grumpy old woman - Christmas cards

Now I don't want to moan but....what is it with people who don't send charity Christmas cards? Every year I get a smattering of them. Usually either

a) unbelievably cool or

b) unbelievably naff

but which ever way you look at it

c) unbelieveably WRONG!

With the amount of paper and ink wasted in cards sent every year don't you think we should give something back?

Oh yes, I know the arguments...actually,,,make that argument...

"Hey, I give money to charity at other times of year so I don't think that I have to buy charity Christmas cards."

Rubbish. There really is no other reason to send Christmas cards than to keep in touch with people you haven't seen all year and aren't intending to see for the next 12 months. And since you have to make a good impression on them the least you could with your tiny and ineffectual attempt to keep in touch benefit somebody...anybody (because let's face it writing the stress of writing all those cards hardly benefits you!)

Not sending charity Christmas cards is just stingy. It's the antithesis of what Christmas is about and doesn't really benefit anyone. Plus you can get some very nice ones is most retailers so they aren't even difficult to get hold of!

Make a choice this year not to buy own brand Christmas cards. After all mate...it's for charideee.
